How do I fix Google Play Store not opening or downloading?

If you’re having trouble with the Google Play Store app not opening or downloading, please see the steps below.

Please make sure you have an active internet connection before attempting any troubleshooting 

Clear Data of the Play Store

1. Open the Settings app and tap Apps 

In older operating systems you’ll find this option in Settings > Application Manager 

2. Scroll down to select Google Play Store

3. Tap Storage

4. Select Clear Data and tap Delete to confirm

5. Restart your device
