Changing your lock screen PIN or swipe pattern

Your device has been set up with a generic password “qwerty” – we recommend changing this by following the steps below. You can also create a swipe pattern or register your fingerprint for select models.

1. Go to “Settings”
2. Select “Lock Screen and Security” (“Security” on some devices)
3. Select “Screen Lock Type” and you will be prompted to enter your current unlock method
4. Create your swipe pattern or change your PIN as prompted.

To change the timeout setting and other lock settings

1. Go to “Settings”
2. Select “Display” (“Security” on some devices)
3. Select “Screen Timeout”
4. You can change the timeout length.

NOTE: If your settings do not match the above please check to see if there are any Software Updates that can be installed to fix this issue. Go to Settings/Software Updates (or About/Software Update)
