Important update | WhatsApp

WhatsApp has updated its platform to include ‘Channels’ which provides unfiltered access to inappropriate content. As it is not possible to block access to this feature, it is felt that WhatsApp should only be used if essential for business use.

Our suggested alternative is the Signal app. This has most of the same features as WhatsApp, including status updates and groups.

We have requested that all Community related group chats be moved to this platform and the respective WhatsApp groups be closed down.

For your protection, we are requesting that you uninstall WhatsApp and use Signal for any instant messaging communications.·     

• When you set up Signal all your contacts will automatically be made available in this platform.
• Chat History will not be transferred. You will need to take screenshots or create notes for any important information within a chat that you wish to retain. Some Note apps are: Samsung Notes, OneNote etc.
• To help retain your WhatsApp images, please follow the steps in this linked guide.
• Groups can be transferred to Signal, please refer to the steps outlined in this guide.
